Plain language – writing texts in German in a comprehensible manner and in compliance with specific requirements – is aimed at various addresses: for example disabled persons, people with acquired medical conditions (e.g. following a stroke or through dementia) who now have difficulty understanding texts, and also at people learning German as a second language.
I have acquired specialist skills and a certification during a series of seminars over several days at the University of Hildesheim, Research Unit Plain Language, and am continuously undergoing further training. I am also attending conferences and events on this subject regularly.
Closely linked to that, I also maintain an active interest in accessible pictures and sketchnoting.
